| Bio: | Name: Kaname Tousen Age: 29 Occupation: District Attorney -- Tousen has been literally blind since birth. For some reason his optic nerves never fully developed, whether it was from insufficient nutrition in the womb or some genetic flaw, the doctors never found out. But really, the ‘why’ doesn’t matter. It’s a fact of life, and he lives with it. This means he sees everyone differently, in his own version of colors he’s heard of but never seen, from his distant father (who he always imagined to be a pale blue, cold and far-off) to his driver (a rather professional man, who he figured to be a bland grey) to his deceased mother (who had been warm, and kind, but so very confused about how to deal with a blind child. He always considered her to be red – loving one minute, and angry at how difficult her life was with him the next.) Tousen was figuratively blinded by love for three years. She was, to him, an orange, as sunshine was always described. Her laugh was in the soprano range, soft as rain and as sudden as a downpour. They’d been set up for a blind date, which his friends found to be quite ironic, and somehow things had clicked. She understood when he needed help and gave it, and had learned when he wanted to be independent. Even if she did tease him about things when he got too stubborn… After two years of dating, Kaname came to realize that he didn’t want to live life without her, and proposed. She accepted. The wedding plans were nearing completion when she walked out of a department store and into a shoot-out between police and suspect. His love, his other half, was pronounced dead on the scene. And the suspect hadn’t even been guilty of the crime the cops were chasing him for. Since then, for four years, Tousen has been blinded by anger and his own version of justice. The police are, he believes, a nuisance. They may be meant to serve the greater good, to keep the peace, but keeping the peace through violence will never work. Most criminals are dangerous and should be locked away, yes, but some particular ones, when organized properly, can be used to help society. The good criminals are, after all, smarter and more motivated than your regular police officer. So sometimes, Tousen… slips up. The case does not wind up quite as airtight as it could be, and a culprit gets away. Tousen does not accept pay for this, because he is not corrupt. However, he does welcome the protection this gives him on the streets, the respect from men who are intelligent and constantly thinking about the future, and the higher chance it gives of one day the cop that murdered his fiancé being gunned down in the street in return. And so he turned a blind eye to himself, and devoted everything towards revenge and making the world a better place in his mind. -- Pick Two songs for your Character: Moonlight Sonata, by Beethoven Move Along by The All-American Rejects. -- Is your Character Social (makes friends easily) or Anti-social (more guarded)? Kaname is guarded. If they’re an officer of the law, he will, by default, dislike them. He is outwardly friendly with other people he meets, as he is, after all, a politician and must be voted into office. Kaname works very hard to keep his dislike and distrust of police hidden, since the nature of his job entails that he must deal with them. He’s rather lonely, though he confuses loneliness with weakness, and believes that strength is found in being alone, not reliant on anyone else anymore. -- Any Notes?
